Welcome to June! We hope you were able to enjoy some time over the long weekend with the special people in your life doing some fun things.
June leads us into the 'water' months - more snow, ice and rain than during other seasons. Contemplating the dichotomy of water in its many forms we appreciate it's beauty and harshness, its relentless power and yielding fluidity, and how it can be both life-giving & life-threatening. We are reminded of its importance in the optimal functioning of our body and mind and science is consistently discovering and explaining how we can utilize water to transform our lives. So, in our newsletter this month we have a few thoughts on 'The Importance of Water'

Movie: Project 10:10:10 - Pill or Perception?
We are pleased to be able to screen the movie Project 10:10:10 - Pill or Perception?, while Richard Moat Ph.D. & Moativational Medicine is back in HB in June for their Master Class Weekend. Richard is one of the experts in the field of human consciousness featured in this New Zealand-made documentary exploring and explaining the alternative viewpoints and approaches to treating illness and creating wellness. Richard will be taking questions from the audience following the screening. So mark your diaries: June 18th, 7.30 p.m. at Lecture Theatre 2, EIT, Gloucester Street, Taradale. We'd love to see you there!

We have many articles, books and other products available on the subject of water! Have you looked at Ben Warren's series of articles under our 'Enlightening Info' tab? See Secret No 4 - How dehydration will make you Fat Faster than Donuts! On the subject of dehydration and its devasting effects on health, take a look at a book and DVD by Dr Batmanghelidj who is mentioned in the quotes above. The Secret Life of Water is a recently released book by Masaru Emoto of 'Hidden Messages in Water' fame. There are also Healing Medicine Water Blessing Labels and a documentary-style DVD entitled 'Water' that explores its functions and capacities from a scientific and spiritual prespective.
Shona & Maree's Water Top-Up Tips
After all this mention of water we've been thinking of ways we can increase our water intake during the winter months. Hot drinks are more appealing when the chill sets in so experiment with a few pantry items until you find a mix that appeals to your taste buds. We love a mix of honey & cinnamon with boiling water and also lemon juice, grated ginger (keep grated in a container in the freezer ready to use) and boiling water - with honey if you feel like a sweet fix!
