Well, Auckland was buzzing last week with some very inspiring events. No, we're not talking about 'Boobs on Bikes' (although that may well have been inspiring for some!), but Deepak Chopra and John Demartini were in town, both offering their own more personal form of self-empowerment! Thank you to Spiritworks and Universal Connections for bringing these presenters to us.
Through Byron Katie's words in the Book Club, our latest favourite Alison Armstrong, and the events in Auckland we have been receiving one strong message. This message is one of understanding & relationship building - and first and foremost forging these strengths within our own self. Take a look at more thoughts and links below.
This month we have:
Thoughts on Relationships
Have you heard of Alison Armstrong? We have recently been impressed with the entertaining and eye-opening audios and books she has produced. Alison has studied men for over 20 years (who was saying women were complicated?!) and she has some hilarious insights into the motivation and functioning of men and their relationships with women. This understanding opens space for loving and empowering relationships for all men and women - and we certainly want more of that!
Unfortunately we are unable to supply her products but feel she has so much to offer that we do suggest you take the time to look at her website.
"As this overpowering realization struck home, I knew that I would never experience my power as a woman until I allowed men to have their power too. The choice was either to be weak together or to be powerful together. I chose being powerful....... If men weren’t being weakened by women, they could direct all that power towards solving problems worthy of their dignity and their honor." - Alison Armstrong
"To become masters of love we have to practice love. The art of relationship is also a whole mastery, and the only way to reach mastery is with practice. To master a relationship is therefore about action. Of course to have action, we need to have some knowledge, or at least a little more awareness of the way humans operate." - Don Miguel Ruiz The Mastery of Love
"My experience is that the teachers we need most are the people we are living with now. Our spouses, parents, and children are the clearest masters we could hope for. Again and again, they will show us the truth we dont want to see, until we see it." - Byron Katie Loving What Is
"Life is love and love is life. What keeps the body together but love? What is desire but love of the self? .. . And what is knowledge but love of truth? The means and forms may be wrong, but the motive behind is always love—love of the me and the mine. The me and the mine may be small, or may explode and embrace the Universe, but love remains" - Deepak Chopra Path to Love
And these bring a smile to our faces:
"Many people live with the illusion that the purpose of marriage is happiness. This fantasy apparently began in the 12th Century.." - John Demartini The Breakthrough Experience
" It can be hard for a woman to hear that she's beautiful or has a gorgeous body when she's having a 'fat day' and feels like a sack of potatoes" - Katie Loisel-Fury & Paul Segal How to Get The Man/Woman You want

The Nature of Reality & Other Upcoming Events
We had an early breakfast with Darrelle, Cheryl & Terri-Kay of Ikon-Idea while in Auckland. ( Bad hair day that day!) We had lots of laughs hearing of their experiences during their recent engagements in England and Hawaii. Over the next month they will be travelling to Hawkes Bay and Brisbane to present 'The Nature of Reality'. They do hours of research to provide scientific support for their presentations so if you get the opportunity to attend one of their events TAKE IT!
Check out Laughter Yoga, Meditations and other events coming up this month too.
